The Oceanic Palliative Care Conference (OPCC) is one of the leading palliative care events in the Southern Hemisphere. Presented by Palliative Care Australia (PCA), it offers a dynamic program of expert-led sessions and valuable networking opportunities. The 2025 conference, themed “Connecting Systems for Better Care,” will focus on practical solutions responding to the challenges of an ageing population.

The event is taking place in Brisbane from 10–12 September 2025 and scholarships are now available.

PCA in partnership with the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care, is offering scholarships to support broader participation. These scholarships are designed to reduce financial barriers by covering the costs of registration, accommodation, and travel.

Eligible applicants include anyone working or volunteering in palliative care, with priority given to specific groups such as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers, consumers and carers, palliative care volunteers, those new to the field, and professionals working in aged care, disability care, rural/remote areas, or the wider Oceanic region.

There are two scholarship rounds:

• Round 1 (January–May 2025) covers full conference registration, three nights’ accommodation, and travel for applicants living outside Brisbane’s metropolitan area.
• Round 2 (August 2025) covers registration only, and those not successful in Round 1 will be automatically reconsidered.

Recipients will receive full conference access, including networking events and mandatory pre-conference workshops on 9 September. Travel support includes return economy flights and a $100 transport allowance, with flexibility handled on a case-by-case basis.
