Does a photo of hands holding hands truly portray modern palliative care? What image says palliative care to you?

The European Association For Palliative Care (EAPC) will be holding their 17th World Congress online from 6 – 8 October. The theme for this year is “Exploring new dimensions”.

At their last congress in 2019 they began a photography competition, looking for images that would change the conversation about palliative care. Entries poured in from around the globe.

The winning photo for 2019 was taken at Baruch Padeh Medical Center, Poriya, in Tiberias, Israel by Revital Nave. The piece was entitled, “Know reality, find peace” (see above image).

Entries are now being accepted for this year’s competition under the theme “Exploring new dimensions”. Final deadline for submission of entries is July 31, 2021.
