Angels in Our Town

The people of the Southern Highlands had a chance to say thank you to the unsung heroes of their community last month when they held their “Angels In Our Town” street parade.
The parade was held in Bowral on December 10 and participants were made up from 500 first responders, frontline workers, service organisations, and volunteers, including volunteers representing the Southern Highlands Community Hospice (SHCH).
Additionally, training has finished for SHCH’s second cohort of palliative care volunteers. This very enthusiastic group of volunteers expect to begin their role later this month at Harbison’s Moss Vale and Burradoo aged care facilities.
Bronwyn Heron, Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Consultant from Palliative Aged Care Consultancy Service (PACCS) lead the volunteer training. Demand for palliative care volunteers is high and there will be a third intake for volunteers in February. Email [email protected] if you are interested in getting involved.
