Volunteer Workshop in Orange

  • by Maria Lopez
  • August 17, 2015

About 30 people from Bathurst, Orange and Parkes but as far afield as Coffs Harbour gathered in Orange to talk and think about palliative care volunteering. Alex Huntir from Palliative Care spoke on ideas and innovations, and Anne-Marie Traynor spoke from her experience of managing volunteers at Calvary Kogarah. James Daley asked the group ‘what does the role mean for you’, and ‘how has the role developed over time’ and new opportunities for service improvement were identified. The day wrapped-up with a group session on hand massage by Garry Phipps who is a volunteer at Parkes. Thanks to the organising committee and PEPA for supporting the workshop, a thought provoking day for all.
