- May 16, 2023
It is Volunteer Week and we have asked few Volunteers to share their perspectives about their day to day job.
Jane Lindeman from the Palliative Care Volunteering Lower Mid North Coast Sector shares hers:
What do you think is the most important part of your role?
Being patient and understanding what the client and carer are going through, letting the carer have a bit of time to themselves.
What has surprised you most about your role as a palliative care volunteer?
Making a difference to someone during their final stages of illness.
Tell us about your most memorable moment as palliative care volunteer?
Making someone smile.
What is the one thing you would tell someone who is considering becoming a palliative care volunteer?
It’s not a difficult role and can be most rewarding.
What’s your secret talent?
Listening
Thanks for your contribution Jane!
