The Principles of Volunteer Management program, from The Beryl Institute is a 3-part virtual workshop covering foundational aspects of leading an effective healthcare volunteer program. It also provides in-depth review of policies, processes and procedures to ensure the development of a volunteer program that meets the standards of accrediting agencies.

Facilitated by Eileen McConville, MBA, CAVS, the workshop includes three two-hour virtual sessions held over three consecutive weeks. Each session is followed by a 30-minute optional question and answer period. Attendees receive an electronic workbook as a companion to the training.

Learning objectives:

  1. Review policies, processes and procedures required to meet standards of accrediting agencies
  2. Explore options for expanding and improving volunteer programs to meet the changing needs of healthcare organizations
  3. Gain confidence and competence through a deeper understanding of what creates and sustains successful volunteer programs
