A new palliative care volunteer service just launched at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Camperdown.

The Sydney Local Health District specialist palliative care volunteers will provide social support to people with life-limiting illnesses, their families, and carers. They will be active in hospital and in the community as well as providing a biography service.

Palliative care volunteers are skilled listeners, who are practical, reliable, and caring. RPA Hospital Palliative Care Volunteer Coordinator Roshini Rajeswaran is happy to finally have the service up and running with such a great cohort of volunteers.

“Our volunteers come from all walks of life and they are very keen to begin their volunteering journey,” says Roshini. “I’m confident they will be amazing in their roles.”
