Resilience isn’t futile

Palliative Care NSW ran it’s first online Zoom workshop for volunteers yesterday, “Resilience in the face of adversity”. Our presenter was Mirna Tarabay who has led our “Accidental Counsellor” sessions in various locations over the past couple of years.

There was no way to predict just how popular this would be. We were surprised to find we had close to 200 registrations – many more than the technology we were using could support. Unfortunately, we had to split the registrants into two groups with one group attending this session and the others advised to attend a second session at a future date, which has yet to be confirmed. If you were one of the people inconvenienced by this please accept our apologies.

Despite these teething problems the workshop was very well received. Feedback was positive and we are taking these lessons with us for future workshops.

Our next workshop, “Supporting those before and after a death” on Tuesday February 23 has no limit to the amount of people who can join. Registrations for this workshop are now open.
