Matisse Alive for Carers
- by Kate Bowman
- March 1, 2022
Take some time out for a mindful journey through the Matisse Alive exhibition. Explore guided slow-looking techniques to discuss observations and insights with others in a paced experience.
This arts engagement program has been developed specifically for those who are supporting a person receiving palliative care in a partnership between the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Palliative Care NSW and the University of the University of Technology Sydney.
It provides an opportunity for carers to take time out to acknowledge and engage with their own feelings; to have social engagement and contact; to share experiences with like-minded people; to acknowledge their identity apart from the caring role, and to experience ‘in the ‘moment’ pleasure.
