International Volunteer Day

- December 5, 2022
The UN Volunteers programme coordinates International Volunteer Day on 5 December annually to recognize and promote the tireless work, not just of UN Volunteers, but of volunteers across the globe.
The 2022 campaign celebrates the theme of solidarity through volunteering and highlights the power of our collective humanity to drive positive change for the common good.
It has been a challenging time for palliative care volunteers of late, navigating the many upheavals the pandemic has brought. Nevertheless, volunteers have been keeping at it, working hard to support people in their communities.
So we use this day to send big thank you to all palliative care volunteers. We recognise your contribution and value every effort you made. You have played an important part in creating better end of life outcomes for patients and their families and we are extremely grateful to have you on board.
Thank you and keep up the good work.
