- by Maria Lopez
- June 25, 2024
Friends of Palliative Care (FOPC) supports people with life-limiting illnesses in the Hunter Valley with home equipment needs, financial support to cover the cost of medicines, and providing education to local clinical teams. The service is run by a dedicated team of volunteers.
FOPC recently announced they will be adding a “bucket list” experience to their offerings. This new program will assist palliative care patients to undertake an activity or experience of their choosing as they approach the end of their life.
Successful applicants may receive up to $200 worth of assistance towards making their ‘bucket list’ experience a reality.
Criteria for Funding
- To receive funding, individuals must be receiving palliative care and residing in the Local Health Areas of Maitland, Cessnock, Kurri Kurri, Singleton and Dungog.
- Referrals must come from a health care provider or a palliative care/patient support group or volunteer organisation.
- Payment will only be made to third party experience providers, or given in the form of a voucher.
