The Southern Highlands Community Hospice is expanding and seeking more volunteers.

The organisation funds a range of services for people requiring palliative care in the Southern Highlands community including nursing, carer support, equipment hire, home cleaning and help with the cost of medications.

Volunteers from the service already visit residents in need of palliative care support within the local Harbison aged care facilities in Moss Vale and Burradoo. Three new volunteers have recently joined this team and will commence visiting after completing training at the end of May.

Recognising the value of volunteer support, SHCH has decided to expand beyond aged care and will be soon supporting clients directly in their homes. If you would like to have a greater understanding of palliative care and become a volunteer, opportunities are now available to join their next training sessions in Mittagong in May.
