Palliative Care Volunteers from the Central Coast Local have found the perfect way to connect and make new friends during lockdown.

Kami Dibden, Volunteer Services Manager, was looking for a way to bring some fun and joy into the lives of her volunteers when she found The Joy Project Choir.

The Joy Project Choir is an initiative of the Terrigal Community Choir who used to meet up every other Thursday night to sing. With COVID restrictions in place now more than ever they wanted to to continue to spread some joy so they had to switch to a virtual choir.

Virtual choirs allow many people to come together via digital platforms and contribute their voice. All the voices are then played together forming the virtual choir.

“Our virtual choir has come to life and I could not be happier. I actually cannot wipe the smile off my face and I think I was smiling in my sleep last night, said Kami. “The purpose of this was to bring some joy and smiles to others and I think it did just that. I hope it makes you smile”.
