Volunteers are being celebrated by Western NSW Local Health District as part of NSW Health Volunteer Appreciation Day 16th March 2018.
Community Engagement Manager, Illona Dunn said events were being held across the district to acknowledge and thank our volunteers who contribute so much in supporting our health services.
“With more than 400 volunteers across our 39 different facilities, we’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all of them for their dedication, hard work and commitment” Ms Dunn said.
Volunteers help out with patient support, health promotion activities, fund raising through the local Hospital Auxiliary, helping people find their way around a facility, being a member of the local Health Council and a range of other tasks.
“We are always looking for more volunteers, so if you’ve ever thought about giving back to your community, now is a great time to get involved and join us at Western NSW Local Health District.”
“People can choose how they want to help in their local hospital, and there are many different ways people can get involved and lend a hand,” she said
If you are interested in being a volunteer please contact the health facility and ask to speak to the Health Service Manager or volunteer contact person.
