PalliLEARN: new online course

PalliLEARN is an online learning course, being rolled out across Australia by the palliative care peak bodies in each state and territory. The program is designed for everyone to learn how to build the skills to support and care for those living with a life-limiting illness. It involves easy-to-understand introductory short online courses, designed to cultivate knowledge and compassion around palliative care and end-of-life-care, dying, death and grieving.
Anyone is able to register for the courses as there is no requirement for training or experience within the health or palliative care space. The 60 minute courses are free of charge and are great for anyone who is a carer or family member of someone with a life-limiting illness, or anyone needing introductory level palliative care awareness.
PCNSW secured the PalliLEARN license through funding support from Palliative Care Australia in early 2024. In June 2024, PCNSW secured an NGO grant from the NSW Ministry of Health, providing us the opportunity to deliver PalliLEARN free across NSW for the next 3 years. An early supporter of the PalliLEARN course in NSW is the Healthy North Coast Primary Health Network, who are actively promoting this in their region.
