National Palliative Care Week (19 – 25 May 2025)

- April 30, 2024
In 2024, National Palliative Care Week runs Sunday, 19 May to Saturday, 25 May with a host of local events supported by a vibrant social media campaign – allowing Australians to connect with the ‘people at the heart of quality palliative care’ – the doctors, nurses, social workers, volunteers, and many others.
The week coincides with significant and ongoing reforms across the health, aged care, and disability sectors and is a great opportunity for us to highlight the contribution palliative care is making and what more needs to be done.
Palliative Care NSW is supporting a number of community events throughout this week and at each of these we will also be highlighting palliative care volunteering, particularly as this week also aligns with National Volunteer Week. We will be attending events in Tweed Heads, Yamba, Bellingen, Port Macquarie, Newcastle, Sydney and Parkes. More information on each of these events will be available here soon, so check back in and if there is an event in your area, drop by and say hi.
Palliative Care Australia have now also released campaign resources for the week, with some of the resources featuring Lourdes, a palliative care volunteer. Access these resources here.
We would love to hear about any events you have planned so we can also promote these, and please make sure to share some pics and stories after. Email [email protected]
