Since its launch in 2019, CarerHelp has supported over 120 000 people providing resources for people caring for someone approaching end of life. Unfortunately, their funding has not been renewed and they will cease operation.

Their website has a bunch of useful information to support carers, families, and service providers including videos and downloadable fact sheets. Resources are available for free download only until 6 July 2026 after which their website will close permanently. Get in there and save what you need now while you can.

The CarerHelp: Information Kit for Services includes information to give to families and carers and covers topics such as emotional and physical care, signs of death, medicine administration, grief and bereavement, carer wellbeing, finances, communication and more.

Volunteers might be interested in their Support Worker Resources. Talking to patients and families about death and dying can be hard. Their resources will assist you to work with people who are at the end of life and with families who are caring for someone at the end of life. They have also developed tips specifically for working with families from diverse backgrounds.

Community members can find resources for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, LGBTQI+ families, in other languages other than English, caring in aged care homes, and in rural areas.

Funded by Australian Government  from 2017 to 2026, the CarerHelp program was led in partnership by St Vincents Hospital Melbourne and Flinders University.
