Homelessness and palliative care forum
- by Kate Bowman
- February 9, 2022
Palliative Care NSW will be hosting forums throughout NSW in 2022 to explore the experiences of homelessness and palliative care, as part of a National Project funded by Palliative Care Australia. We’ll be focusing on the barriers that inhibit, or prevent access to, palliative care by those experiencing homelessness.
We would particularly like representation at the forum from health professionals in the following sectors:
- Paramedics – working in areas with people who are homeless, or in overcrowded housing or insecure housing
- Emergency department clinicians – working in hospitals with people who are homeless, or in overcrowded housing or insecure housing
- Palliative care clinicians/nurses/volunteers – working in hospital or community settings with people who are homeless, or in overcrowded housing or insecure housing
- Healthcare workers across Greater Sydney region – working in areas with people who are homeless, or in overcrowded housing or insecure housing
Our first forum will be in Sydney. We also intend to conduct future research that focuses on regional NSW.
