The amazing and dedicated team at Bear Cottage has taken out the award for 2019 NSW Volunteer Team of the Year for the Northern Beaches region.
Bear Cottage is the only children’s hospice in NSW. They provide 24/7 palliative care to children with life-limiting illnesses and provide much needed respite for their families and carers.
Volunteers are an important part of the care team at Bear Cottage. The award was presented to them at a special ceremony in Dee Why on August 26th.
The Federal Member for Mackellar, Mr Jason Falinski MP presented the award. Volunteers Kitty Adrian, Joke Klein and Lynda Harris were there to receive the award on behalf of the team (see photo).
The NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards is an annual program run by The Centre for Volunteering which has grown to become one of the largest celebrations of volunteering across the country.
Congratulations to the whole team.
