Celebrating National Volunteer Week, Volunteers for Palliative Care held an event in East Maitland to recognise the contributions of their volunteers.
A lovely lunch was had with Volunteer Coordinator Amy O’Donnell and PCNSW’s Volunteer Services Support Program Manager Kate Bowman addressing the group thanking them for their time and dedication to volunteering.
Volunteers Helen Harvison and Christine Turnbull were presented with certificates of appreciation while Charlie Pickard and Kate McLaughlin were recognised for their contributions of 10 years of dedicated service.
Special mention goes to Jenny Cridland who as the very first person to volunteer with the organisation has clocked up an amazing 36 years of service. We think she might be NSW’s longest serving palliative care volunteer. What a legend!
A big thank you to the whole Volunteers for Palliative Care team for all your hard work and dedication to supporting people at end of life. What an amazing group of people. It was a pleasure to share the special day with you all.
Does your organisation have a palliative care volunteer that has been at it for more than 36 years? Please let us know if you do.
