Dungog Shire Palliative Care Volunteers are the lucky recipients of a huge donation thanks to the Dungog Rumble. The Rumble is an annual show for cars, trucks, bikes, and machinery which raises money for charity.

2025 was the biggest Rumble on record. It not only attracted the most entries, it had the most spectators and raised the most money. This influx of people is vital for the local economy and community spirit.

A whopping $30,000 was raised, which the service used to purchase a new car. One of the most important services they provide is patient transport, helping clients get to medical appointments that can be a few hours’ drive away in Newcastle.

Margaret Jones and the volunteer team met with the Rumble organising committee to officially receive the new car, which has been decorated with sponsors’ logos. “With this new vehicle on the road, our volunteers can continue to bridge the gap between rural living and essential medical care, one trip at a time,” Margaret said.

“This isn’t just a new car; it’s a lifeline that ensures no patient in the Shire has to worry about how they will get to their next appointment.”
