Fairfield City Council recently recognised HammondCare palliative care volunteer Anna Froio’s exceptional service by awarding her 2025 Volunteer of the Year.

Anna has been volunteering at Braeside Hospital for 17 years. Throughout her time there she has taken on several key roles, including serving the drinks trolley to patients, their families and friends in the palliative care ward throughout the day and evening. Her thoughtful care and dedication make a real difference in the lives of those facing difficult times.

Additionally, Anna provides much-needed pastoral care to patients, offering comfort and emotional support. She also assists diversional therapists with various projects and recently earned a special mention at Parliament House, along with a certificate of recognition.

Congratulations Anna and thank you for your kindness.
