  • April 3, 2018

12th April 2018. The Australian Society for Intellectual Disabilities (NSW / ACT), in partnership with Palliative Care NSW, is hosting an interactive webinar furthering the conversation on ‘Ethical Issues in Ageing’.  Our third event in this series will consider ethical issues relating to end of life for people with intellectual disability, delivered by Dr Michele Wiese, Lecturer in Applied Psychology, Western Sydney University, and Joan Ryan, Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Consultant, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

Michele’s research focus is on end-of-life care for people with intellectual disability. She currently manages a number of research projects on this topic, engaging with researchers in Australia and overseas, the non-government disability sector, and government departments. Joan has extensive clinical experience in palliative care specialist nursing, education and counselling. Joan recognises the important role of the arts as a way of building bridges with people and their communities in order to open meaningful discussion about dying, death and loss.

Date: Thursday 12th April 2018.
Time:  2 – 3pm.
Venue: Online webinar.
