November 5 is International Volunteer Managers Day

2019 marks the 20th time International Volunteer Managers Day (IVMDay) has been celebrated.

This year the theme is “Change the Tune”.

The IMVDay committee says, “We believe that this theme reflects the frustration experienced in many volunteer management circles, where we continue to have the same struggles and discussions year after year. This year’s theme is a chance for us to think differently about how volunteer leadership is positioned – in the hope that we can change the dialogue.”

Here at Palliative Care NSW we think the world of Palliative Care Volunteer Managers. Together they coordinate close to 2000 volunteers state-wide. They are an important part of the teams committed to bringing better end-of-life care to the people of NSW.

To all the Volunteer Managers – we salute you and thank you for all your hard work.

If you are a volunteer, take a moment on November 5 to let your manager know they are appreciated. Or get your whole group together and make a bigger fuss. Your hard-working manager deserves some praise.

For more information about the day including suggestions on how you can celebrate it, resources, posters and banners go to their website (click here).
