The Leaders of Health Volunteer Engagement (LoHVE) Network is a group of Volunteer Managers and Coordinators that work within the Health sector. It now has more than 170 members from all across Australia, New Zealand and more recently the USA.
Every year the very hard working Sharon Walsh, LoHVE Network founder and chair, and Director of Volunteer Services at Bendigo Health undertakes a benchmarking study of the volunteer sector. This year there were 55 agencies that participated.
Since 2013 Sharon has taken on the mammoth task of gathering data and reporting. The report gives an overview of the volunteer sector and tracks trends in relation to volunteer engagement and volunteer management. It helps individual services understand where they sit in relation to others and informs development and improvement.
The 2020 report is based on figures from 1 Jan – 31 December 2019 and is available here for you to download and read. If you work in the Health sector and manage volunteers you might like to contact Sharon and join the network.
