A celebration of service in the Blue Mountains

In a tribute to his late wife Eric Hall collected Malu Hall’s certificate for 10 years of volunteering service with the Blue Mountains Palliative Support Service.

Eric quipped that he had been ‘rejected as a palliative care volunteer because he was not empathetic enough’ but instead spent 18 years as a telephone counsellor with Lifeline, proving that he was no stranger to empathy.

Narelle Brown, Robyn Artup and Michael Morley also collected a certificate acknowledging 10 years each with the Lawson-based service.

During the event Volunteer Coordinator Katrina Simmons acknowledged the considerable efforts of all of the service’s volunteers throughout the 26 years that the Blue Mountains Palliative Support Service has been serving the Blue Mountains community.

Blue Mountains Palliative Support Service support people who are in Palliative Care within community settings, and increasingly within inpatient settings.
