Doula Workshop in Murwillumbah

On a Saturday morning in August about fifty volunteers and guests attended a Doula workshop organised by Wedgetail Retreat and hosted by Denise Love. The group of mostly volunteers welcomed Denise’s informative and deeply felt presentation enthusiastically. Denise has been nursing since she was 17 and still uses her clinical skills volunteering through her not-for-profit organisation,  that provides support through projects in Cambodia, Thailand, Nepal and Myanmar. Denise is also a hypnotist and counselor. Read more about Denise here.

End-of-life Doulas are a non-medical role that provides support, options and education assisting the dying and those around them to have their end of life unfold in alignment with their wishes, to preserve the quality of life, well being and self-worth.

Some of the volunteers and a guest, Pam,  spoke to me on camera about their experiences and work.

Many thanks to Meredith Dennis for allowing me to meet the teams and attend the workshop.
